If you noticed i added some white boxes overlaying the image of Emma and Andrew just to add a bit more dimensional to the magazine, I noticed this when researching and taking ideas for my own magazine that Empire does this for Text also. So I did that too i added text with the flow of Red and Black just so that it goes well with the rest of the text.
If you have realized I have Guidelines Going down the left and right sides of the magazine this is so that I know where I place things like text or imagery, because if you think about it when your reading a book or looking on the web at something people always place there text or images in the middle because hats where your eyes focus more at so when you are looking for a magazine it will have everything cramped up in the middle so that you can visually see and pick out parts you like about it. So there for i added guidelines.
Finally i added Some cells; Cells are you overlay icons that sell off your magazine.I will start off by the corner Cell on the right hand side up the top, I created that with using the square tool on Photoshop and the "transforming it" to a triangle by halving it, I then added some text just to make it more suitable for a magazine style icon.
I then created the Button Cell by individually Creating a White circle (by using the circle tool) then a Black circle but a little smaller than the White one and then a Red Circle but also a bit more smaller than the Black one, If you noticed I used the Flow colour scheme for them too just so that they fit its the same with the corner Cell.
I added text in the button Cell just so that it has a reason to be on the magazine and also to make it look like more of an Empire magazine.
Finally to finish off my magazine I deselected the head of my model to overlap the logo to do this i used the little pen tool to mark off points of where i wanted to crop from and then Ctrl+D to deselect the image. I then pulled that in front of everything so that it overlapped the Logo.
Personally i think this sharpens up my magazine and makes it look more professional just like Empire.
